Gosden Pair Work For Derby

Trainer John Gosden's leading G1 Epsom Derby fancies Golden Horn (GB) (Cape Cross {Ire}) and Jack Hobbs (GB) (Halling) worked in preparation for the June 6 Classic in Newmarket Saturday. The colts worked on separate gallops both with lead horses, and Gosden said, “Both Derby horses worked this morning and I was very happy with them. Jack Hobbs worked on the watered gallop, while across on the Limekilns Golden Horn worked with Frankie Dettori. There was nothing different, they just worked with lead horses.”

Gosden said Golden Horn, the Derby favorite who must be supplemented to the race, would have one more work before next Saturday.

“I don't think Jack Hobbs needs another serious piece of work, while Golden Horn would need another piece of serious work,” he noted. “Epsom [Breakfast With The Stars] the other day and their work today were the main pieces of work for them.”
