Andre Fabre bids for a 10th Grand Prix de Chantilly | Racing Post

Sunday's supporting races to the Prix du Jockey Club are notable in their own right, with the G2 Grand Prix de Chantilly representing the comeback of Al Shaqab Racing's G2 Qatar Prix Chaudenay winner Doha Dream (Fr) (Shamardal). Also third in the G2 Prix Niel here in September and successful in the Listed Derby de l'Ouest at Nantes and Listed Prix Frederic de Lagrange at Vichy in July, he bids for a 10th win in this prestigious affair for the record-holder Andre Fabre. He faces last year's G1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud scorer Silverwave (Fr) (Silver Frost {Ire}) and G1 Prix Vermeille heroine Left Hand (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}), with the former an encouraging third in the G1 Prix Ganay at Saint-Cloud at the start of last month.

Left Hand has more questions to answer, having finished sixth under a Group 1 penalty in the G2 Prix Corrida over 10 1/2 furlongs at Saint-Cloud on May 23. Her trainer Carlos Laffon-Parias told Jour de Galop, “She never accelerated there and maybe we were too kind to her in the mornings. I want to see how she behaves on Sunday, because the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, her first target of the year, is only one month away.”
