Group 1 Winner Set For Chairman's Sale

Tavistock | Cambridge Stud

Group 1-winning mare Provocative (NZ) (Zabeel {NZ}) is the first entry for Inglis's inaugural Chairman's Sale unveiled on Friday. Last year's G1 Queensland Oaks winner is the last Group 1 winner sired by the late great Zabeel (NZ), and she will be offered by Newgate Farm in foal to Tavistock (NZ). The 4-year-old is a daughter of G3 Tasmanian Derby winner Betwixt (NZ) (O'Reilly {NZ}).

“Provocative, who won four of her eight starts as a racehorse including the G1 Queensland Oaks, is an outstanding opportunity for a breeder to invest in a blue chip mare at the beginning of her stud career,” said Newgate's Henry Field. “Newgate Farm are thrilled to be supporting the inaugural Chairman's Sale and I can see this concept growing into a really exciting sale in years to come.”

Provocative will be offered during Session II of the Chairman's Sale, the Elite Breeding Prospects session, on Apr. 7.
