Guite Powell Passes Away

Guite Powell (born Marguerite-Marie Grou), passed away Easter Sunday following a long illness. Guite began her career in the 70's at Haras de Sai working for Maurice O'Neill, before helping to create the Haras du Lieu des Champs, which her son Richard continues to develop today. Late on, she directed Haras de Bouquetot. Powell will be much missed by her “boys”, Leonard, Freddy and Richard, who continue her passion for horse breeding and racing. Facing her illness, Powell drew courage from her eight grandchildren: Louise, Blanche, Jeanne, Eleanor, George, Edward, Henry and Charles, who brought her much joy in these last years.
