Gulfstream Rainbow Pick Six Goes Down

The Gulfstream Rainbow Pick Six, which pays out only when there is one correct winning ticket, was hit Friday for the first time since Dec. 28, triggering a payout of a record $3,591,245.44. The winning ticket, which cost $3,118.50, was sold at The Meadowlands in New Jersey. The previous record for a winning ticket on the Rainbow 6 was $791,364 Apr. 1, 2012. The previous record carryover was $5.1 million Apr. 23, 2011. Friday’s sequence began in race five, with Keyner Veloz causing a $114 upset. Original Cast ($11.40) won leg two, followed by Odalys Halo ($36.80) in the seventh race. Artie’s Jasper ($17.80) led throughout in race eight and Mays Treasurelove struck at $23.60 in race nine. There were tickets live to no fewer than five horses (1,2, 3, 7 and 11) going into the final leg, which was ultimately taken by Feline Forum, the 7 horse, at $23.
