There's nothing particularly sexy about this horse. He's never been favored in his five career starts and has never gone off at odds lower than 7-2. He just wins. Gun Runner has lost just once in his life and that was in the slop at Churchill last year in the GII Kentucky Jockey Club S. The question with him is the level of competition he faced in Louisiana. You might also argue that he hasn't necessarily proven that he's better than Mo Tom (Uncle Mo) since that colt had so much trouble in the GII Veterans Ford Risen Star S. and the GII Twinspires.com Louisiana Derby.
