Harristown House Stud, adjacent to the Aga Khan's Gilltown Stud in Co. Kildare is being offered for sale by Paddy Jordan of Jordan Town & Country Estate Agents. Harristown House Stud was originally owned by the La Touche banking family, who purchased it in 1768, and its present owners, who bought it in 1943, are now retiring.

The 750-acre property rests on rich parkland overlooking the River Liffey and is surrounded by beech, oak and lime trees. The property includes a 12,000 square foot Georgian home with an additional 6,000 square foot basement. The house has four main reception rooms, a library, drawing room, dining room and Chinese Room. There is also ample staffing accommodations. The property includes 367 acres in arable use and 187 acres in permanent pasture, with the balance comprising parkland and shelter belts. The River Liffey bisects the estate. The estate is in prime Thoroughbred country; in addition to Gilltown Stud, it is adjacent to Prince Khalid Abdullah's New Abbey Stud, Ardenode Stud, Hollyhill Stud, Newberry Stud and Ragusa Stud. It is convenient to The Curragh, six miles from the Irish National Stud and 25 miles from Dublin. The agents are quoting €25-million on the property.
