Robert Havlin has failed in his final appeal to France Galop against a six-month ban for failing a doping test.
The jockey, who rides primarily for John Gosden, was found to have returned a positive sample when riding at Saint-Cloud on Oct. 30. He is banned until Oct. 4 but will be making an application to the British Horseracing Authority not to reciprocate the suspension.
France Galop will be requesting the sanctions to be imposed by its counterpart in Britain, with the BHA adding that any application by Havlin “would be considered by the disciplinary panel”.
Havlin said at the time the ban was announced that he was “deeply upset and shocked'', describing it as an '”outrageous miscarriage of justice and defamation of my character”.
Meanwhile Aidan O'Brien has confirmed that he will be appealing the controversial punishment over the running and riding of Music Box (Ire) at Dundalk last Friday.
The filly stayed on for third in a maiden, a length behind winning stablemate Asking (Ire) but connections were deemed by the stewards to have fallen foul of the Turf Club's Rule 212 (A) (ii) & (iii), which concerns whether a genuine attempt has been made to obtain the best possible position.
O'Brien was fined €2000, jockey Wayne Lordan banned for five days and Music Box suspended for 42 days.
