Heartbreak City Jumping Back To Action

Heartbreak City | Racing Post

Heartbreak City (Fr) (Lando {Ger}), the winner of last season's Betfred Ebor H. before finishing runner-up to Almandin (Ger) (Monsun {Ger}) in the G1 Emirates Melbourne Cup, is likely to be seen next racing over hurdles. Trainer Tony Martin has pencilled in a return to the track for his 7-year-old at Leopardstown on Jan. 22.

He commented, “We are thinking of going for the Coral.ie Hurdle at Leopardstown. We will have to talk to the other owners in Australia but that is the plan at the moment. He's had a little break after the Melbourne Cup but is ready to go now.

In eight starts over hurdles, Heartbreak City has won twice, with both victories coming in the build-up to last August's valuable Ebor success. With another four victories on the Flat plus his lucrative second-place finish in Australia, the gelding's earnings now stand at £701,780.
