Nurlan Bizakov's Hesmonds Stud has purchased a share in Classic sire Le Havre (Ire) for €400,000 on Arqana Online. Le Havre, the sire of dual Classic winners Avenir Certain (Fr) and La Cressonniere (Fr) in his first three crops bred off a €5,000 stud fee, will stand for €60,000 at Haras de la Cauviniere next year. Le Havre is also the sire of group winners Auvray (Fr), Queen Bee (Fr), Suedois (Fr) and Zghorta Dance (Fr).
Bizakov bought Hesmonds Stud in East Sussex in 2010, and has plans to develop a high-end operation. Hesmonds bought the first-ever stallion share offered on Arqana Online, a €355,000 share in Siyouni (Fr) last November, and it was also the buyer of a share in Wootton Bassett (GB) for €120,000 last month.
Hesmonds Stud Manager Tony Fry said, “Le Havre is a stallion we have believed in for a long time and this purchase is an investment for the long term. We sent him two mares in 2015, one this year, and for 2017 we already had him down for Elik, a daughter of Dalakhani out of Elopa, and Zimira, an Invincible Spirit from the family of Barathea. We will see whether we change our plans further to this purchase. I don't need to say much about Le Havre: he does the talking and his results are here for everyone to see. What he has achieved so far is very impressive and he is set to continue in the same direction. We are also looking forward to partnering with Mathieu Alex and all the team at Haras de la Cauviniere, who have done a fantastic job with Le Havre and have been a pleasure to deal with.”
