World Pool betting will be in action for the first time at Newmarket's July Course and on Shergar Cup Day.
The inclusion of July Cup Day (11 July) adds another International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA) Top 100 Group 1 race to the list of fixtures being commingled with 27 global betting jurisdictions, while Shergar Cup Day (8 August) at Ascot is set to welcome a HKJC team for the first time.
The latest approval of World Pool races also includes a fourth day, up from three, at both Glorious Goodwood (28 – 31 July) and York's Ebor Festival (19 – 22 July), and a new fixture added from Argentina, Carreras de las Estrellas Day (28 June), which is formed of three Group 1s.
In Ireland, a full card of races on Irish Oaks Day (18 July) from the Curragh will be commingled for the first time, adding another historic Classic contest to the World Pool programme.
In Australia, Randwick's Winx Stakes Day (22 August) and Caulfield's Memsie Stakes Day (29 August) will be World Pool meetings for the first time.
July and August will be a busy time for World Pool in Germany as well, with Deutsches Derby Day (5 July) from Hamburg, Grosser Preis Bayerisches Zuchtrennen Day (26 Jul) from Munich, Preis der Diana – German Oaks Day (2 Aug) from Dusseldorf and Grosser Preis von Berlin Day (9 Aug) from Hoppegarten all returning.
Other returning fixtures in July and August, include the Durban July (4 July) and Champions Cup Day (26 July) from Greyville in South Africa, and King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day (31 July) from Ascot in the UK.
Hong Kong Jockey Club Executive Director, Racing, Andrew Harding said, “Newmarket's July Course is a beautiful track and the July Cup is a fantastic sprint, so we're delighted to have that on the World Pool agenda for the first time.
“The addition of Shergar Cup Day will hopefully add something different for global punters, with the opportunity to support jockeys from around the world, including a new HKJC team this year.
“Irish Oaks Day, Winx Stakes Day and Memsie Stakes Day as well as extensions to our offering from two historic festivals at Goodwood and York are other exciting additions to the programme, which promises to provide World Pool customers with more top-class racing in the months to come.”
