'Horse' Absentee From Super Sprint

De Bruyne Horse | Racing Post

De Bruyne Horse (GB) (Showcasing {GB}) was a surprise absentee from the list of final declarations for the Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury on Saturday. The Woodcote S. winner headed the ante-post market with some bookmakers at around 5-1, but will not take his chance in the valuable five-furlong contest.

Tim Palin, racing manager for owners Middleham Park Racing, said, “He runs in the [G2] Prix Robert Papin [Maisons-Laffitte] on Sunday instead. Basically the lure of a Group 2 and the race cutting up helped us decide, and he'll be more suited over five and a half furlongs”

De Bruyne Horse's trainer Richard Hannon still has three horses representing his Marlborough stable as he looks for a second win after Tiggy Wiggy (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}) in 2014. His trio comprises Zalshah (GB) (Mayson {GB}), Glaceon (Ire) (Zoffany {Ire}) and Lexington Grace (Ire) (Sir Prancealot {Ire}).
