Spendthrift Farm owner B. Wayne Hughes has joined the Water Hay Oats Alliance. The organization is a grassroots movement formed to support passage of The Horseracing Integrity Act (HR1754/S1820) with the intention to create a uniform standard for drug rules and testing through a national program overseen by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), a private, non-governmental entity.
“I wholeheartedly support the effort,” said Hughes. “The need for this legislation is urgent, and the future of horse racing hangs in the balance of its enactment. We are on the edge of the cliff.”
