Kitten's Joy is represented by Belmont firster Ginza

3rd-KD, $130K, Msw, 2yo, f, 1mT, post time: 2:26 p.m. CDT
GINZA (Kitten's Joy) is one of three in the race for her successful sire and offers a strong Ramsey pedigree on top and bottom. Despite being a full-sister to five-time Grade I winner and last year's Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf victress Stephanie's Kitten, the Florida-bred cost owner James Karp just $190,000 at last year's Keeneland September sale. The siblings' dam, Unfold the Rose (Catienus) is an unraced daughter of the Ramseys' Bail Out Becky (Red Ransom), who posted a career high-water mark in the 1995 GI Del Mar Oaks, one of her nine victories. Kiki and Louise Courtelis's Town and Country Farm acquired Winter Garden (Roy), a two-time Grade III winner at Woodbine and off the board just once in 18 career appearances, for $575,000 at the 2005 Keeneland November sale, and the mare has crossed successfully with A.P. Indy-line sires. Her foal of 2010, Title Contender (Pulpit), won the 2013 GIII British Colombia Derby and GIII Ohio Derby, while her next produce, Matterhorn (Tapit), earned graded-stakes black-type in last year's GIII Philip H. Iselin S. Moonlit Garden (Malibu Moon) debuts Saturday afternoon in the colors of her breeders and enters this bow off a best-of-11 five furlongs at Saratoga in 1:00 2/5 Aug. 30. TJCIS PPs
