Stonestreet Stable's MARCY DARCY (Smart Strike) gets her career under way almost exactly a year to the day that her close relation Union Jackson (Curlin) was accorded 'TDN Rising Star' status on the strength of a 7 3/4-length maiden victory at this track last Oct. 10. The chestnut homebred is a daughter of fellow 'Rising Star' Hot Dixie Chick (Dixie Union), who graduated by nearly a half-dozen lengths at second asking and added the GIII Schuylerville S. in 2009. Marcy Darcy's second dam is the fleet California-bred Above Perfection (In Excess {Ire}), winner of her first three trips to the post at two and three and just beaten into second by future champion Xtra Heat (Dixieland Heat) in the 2001 GI Prioress S. Fellow debutante Dance Proposal (Divine Park) looms an interesting prospect from the widest post in the field of nine. Produced by a half-sister to GISW Lear's Princess (Lear Fan), the bay was the lone representative for her now expat sire at this year's Fasig-Tipton Florida Sale, breezed an eighth of a mile in :10 2/5 and was hammered down to Joe Minor's JSM Equine for $150,000. Dance Proposal debuts in the colors of Glencrest Farm. TJCIS PPs

SOUPER CATCH (Bernardini) came from near the back of the pack to round out the triple behind Reckling (Dialed In) and subsequent TDN Rising Star Mo Town (Uncle Mo) on Saratoga debut Aug. 27, but couldn't seal the deal last time as the 9-10 chalk going Churchill's one-turn mile and settled for second Sept. 17. Charlotte Weber's Live Oak Plantation acquired the colt's 2007 GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies-winning dam for $3.5 million carrying Souper Catch's year-older full-brother at the 2012 Fasig-Tipton November Sale. The latter broke his maiden at Presque Isle Downs Thursday. Commandeering (Bodemeister), a $340,000 KEESEP graduate, also stretches out to two turns off a green fourth on his Sept. 4 bow at Saratoga. He descends from the extended female family of GISW Laragh (Tapit) and MGSW & MGISP Summer Front (War Front). TJCIS PPs @EquinealTDN
