An interesting field of 10 turf fillies and mares will contest the GII Nassau S. at Woodbine Sunday. Favored at 2-1 on the morning line is near-millionaire Strut the Course (Strut the Stage). A The bay took last term's GII Dance Smartly S. and GII Canadian S. over this turf course before finishing a close fourth in the GI E. P. Taylor S. Oct. 18. Fifth at odds-on in the restricted Sir Barton S. over the local main track Nov. 29, she took to the Tapeta when besting Moon Rainbow (Smart Strike) and 2014 Canadian Horse of the Year Lexie Lou (Sligo Bay {Ire}) in an Apr. 30 optional claimer. Invading from south of the border is the promising Stormy Victoria (Fr) (Stormy River {Fr}). Competing last year in her native country for conditioner Mauricio Delcher-Sanchez, the grey finished last term with a fourth-place finish in a listed affair at Longchamp over 2100 meters of soft ground. Backed down to 23-10 favoritism making her first start for Christophe Clement at Belmont Apr. 29, she rallied powerfully from last to first to establish a new seven-panel course record. Mississippi Delta (Giant's Causeway) is one of three signed on here for leading local conditioner Mark Casse along with the aforementioned Lexie Lou and longshot Uchenna (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}). The bay, who flew home to take the Alywow S. sprinting over wet turf here last June, kicked off her 4-year-old campaign with a neck allowance success at Gulfstream Mar. 6. She was most recently second in that track's GII Honey Fox S. Apr. 2.
