Trainer Bob Baffert purchased a colt by sophomore sire Into Mischief for a sale-topping $320,000 during Monday's Barretts May sale. The juvenile, who worked a furlong in a co-fastest :10 flat during last week's under tack preview, is out of multiple group winner Smolensk (Danzig) and is a half-brother to multiple stakes winner Martha's Moon (Malibu Moon). Bred by Malibu Farm, the youngster sold for $40,000 to Gus Bell, agent, at the 2011 Keeneland November sale. He RNA'd for $60,000 at last year's Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October sale. The bay colt was consigned by Ciaran Dunne's Wavertree Stables. It was the third straight year the Ocala-based operation consigned the May topper.
