CYCLONE MISCHIEF (c, 2, Into Mischief–Areyoucominghere, by Bernardini) nearly wired the field at first asking, just getting nailed by a pair of closing ivals on the line to be third by three-quarters of a length at Churchill Downs Sept. 16. With an extra sixteenth to work with Wednesday, the $450,000 Keeneland September grad raced closest to pacesetter Permafrost (Frosted) into the first turn. Settled just a path off the rail for the backstretch run, Cyclone Mischief stuck a head in front with five-sixteenths to run and took full command at the top of the lane, drawing clear under a hand ride to win comfortably by 5 1/4 lengths. 31-1 shot My Imagination (Lea) filled out the exacta. Out of a half-sister to GISP Suddenbreakingnews (Mineshaft), Cyclone Mischief is from the family of MGISW Composure (Touch Gold) and MGISP Centring (A.P. Indy). His dam produced a weanling filly by Street Sense and was bred to Munnings for the 2023 season. Sales History: $450,000 Ylg '21 KEESEP. Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-1, $65,625.
