CRAVEN'S LEGEND (IRE) (c, 3, Invincible Spirit {Ire}–Prudenzia {Ire} {SW-Fr}, by Dansili {GB}), a debut sixth at Deauville July 2 and a last-out third going one mile at Saint-Cloud on seasonal return Mar. 24, was positioned in fourth until improving one spot at halfway in this low-key affair. Nudged along with a quarter mile remaining, the 17-10 chalk swooped for control passing the eighth pole and was ridden out in the closing stages to withstand the late rally of The Golden Boy (Fr) (Myboycharlie {Ire}) by a head. Craven's Legend, who realised the second-highest price at Arqana's 2014 August yearling sale when selling for €1,100,000, is a half-brother to G1 Irish Oaks victress and G1 Prix de Diane runner-up Chicquita (Ire) (Montjeu {Ire}), Hwt. Older Mare-Ire at 11-14f, G1SW-Ire, G1SP-Eng & Fr, $859,094, who herself became Ireland's highest-priced thoroughbred when knocked down for €6-million at Goffs' 2013 November sale. The winner is a half-brother to a yearling filly by Galileo (Ire). Lifetime Record: 3-1-0-1, €18,250. Video, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
