This year's G1 July Cup hero Mayson (GB) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}–Mayleaf {GB}, by Pivotal {GB}) has been retired to stand at Cheveley Park Stud. Bred and owned by David Armstrong, the Richard Fahey-trained 4-year-old was the five-length winner of the Newmarket feature and had finished a neck runner-up in the G1 Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp on Sunday. He retires as the winner of five of his 18 starts and over £400,000 in prize money. Cheveley Park's Managing Director Chris Richardson said, “We feel Mayson offers breeders a very exciting speed option for their mares and hugely compliments the already proven portfolio of stallions currently standing at Cheveley Park Stud.”
