The International Thoroughbred Breeders' Federation (ITBF)'s biennial conference will be held in France from May 5-10.

The French Thoroughbred Breeders' Association (Federation des Eleveurs du Galop) will welcome delegates from each of the 23 attending member countries, as well as member organisations EFTBA and OSAF. There will also be representatives from the IFHA, with whom the ITBF formalised its collaboration in 2023.

During the ITBF General Meeting, expert speakers will present on relevant breeding and racing topics and the many challenges facing the Thoroughbred industry today. There will also be a Veterinary Conference held, with veterinary chairman and vice chair Dr Des Leadon hosting a round table. Leading veterinarian experts and scientific researchers will also deliver a series of highly relevant lectures. France's Dr Gaëlle Gonzalez and Dr Guillaume Fortier will be providing the plenary lecture on West Nile Virus – a significant and escalating threat to equines.

Ahead of the Paris meetings, delegates  will first experience Deauville, visiting Haras de Colleville, Haras d'Etreham, Haras de Bouquetot, Haras de Beaumont and Haras de Bonneval. In addition, a trip to the extensive Normandie Equine Vallée is in the schedule. Attendees are also invited to ParisLongchamp for the French Guineas meeting on Sunday, May 10.
