Godolphin's Jalil (Storm Cat), purchased for $9.7 million to top the 2005 Keeneland September Yearling Sale, was trapped out very wide for much of his 2000-meter journey in a Nad Al Sheba handicap, but overcame the trip to post a very impressive 2 1/2-length victory Thursday. The win was the second straight at the Carnival for the full brother to After Market, who took a similar event over 1700 meters Feb. 8. Handicapped with an additional 10 pounds off that effort, the imposing bay colt was ridden to close with a quarter mile to race and stayed on nicely for the win. The final time was a smart 2:01.81.
