Japan’s Arc Contenders Arrive
JAPAN’S ARC CONTENDERS ARRIVE
Japan’s three-pronged G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe team, including the world’s current highest-rated horse Just A Way (Jpn) (Heart’s Cry {Jpn}), arrived in Chantilly yesterday, according to Racing Post. The trio were forced to travel by road from Amsterdam after their direct Tokyo to Paris flight was cancelled.
Just A Way, winner of this year’s G1 Dubai Duty Free and G1 Yasuda Kinen most recently June 8, is joined by G1 Oka Sho (Japanese 1000 Guineas) winner Harp Star (Jpn) (Deep Impact {Jpn}), who warmed up with a victory over the third of the group, Gold Ship (Jpn) (Stay Gold {Jpn}), in the G2 Sapporo Kinen Aug. 24.
Just A Way is currently the joint second choice for the Arc at 7-1, while Harp Star is 8-1 and Gold Ship 16-1.
