As a half-brother to 2007 champion sprinter Midnight Lute, hip 148 was always going to attract attention at Barretts. A breeze in :10 1/5 drummed up even more interest, and the dark brown colt wound up selling for $650,000 to Jess Jackson's Stonestreet Stables. From the first crop of MGSW Sir Cherokee (Cherokee Run), the March-born youngster was purchased as a yearling for $150,000 by Mike Ryan, and was offered here by Niall Brennan.
