Johannesburg Daughter of Spain Brings $525,000 at KEEAPR

Prime Equestrian saw off all challengers to land hip 117, a sleek dark bay filly by Johannesburg who was produced by GI Breeders' Cup Distaff heroine Spain (Thunder Gulch), for $525,000. Eddie Woods, agent, consigned the May 7-foaled miss, a half-sister to GSW Plan (Storm Cat) and G1SP Dreamtheimpossible (Giant's Causeway). It was hip 117's second time through the Keeneland sales ring; last September, she made $300,000 to the bid of Pegasus Holding Group. Prime Equestrian has been very busy at April. Even before 117 stepped into the ring, the group had purchased seven horses for $1,402,000.
