Leigh Jordon is the new executive general manager of racing for the Victoria Racing Club, reported Racing.com on Tuesday. He will begin his new role on Apr. 9. Part of the racing industry for many years, Jordan has spent the last seven years as RV's international recruiter, luring overseas horses to Melbourne for the G1 Melbourne Cup and other Spring Carnival events.
“We are pleased to announce Leigh Jordon as the VRC's new EGM Racing,” said VRC Chief Executive Neil Wilson to Racing.com. “With over 30 years' experience, Leigh's exceptional reputation, both locally and internationally, will provide the valued leadership qualities required to achieve the club's increasing expectations of its racing agenda.”
Said Jordon, “I am honoured to have the privilege of heading up the VRC's racing department and participating as a member of the VRC executive leadership team. I look forward to working with Neil and the VRC team to drive the racing strategy and cement the leadership position of the club, both locally and globally.”
Previously, Jordon was VRC Manager, Industry Incentives-VOBIS and Super VOBIS and Racing Victoria General Manager, Racing Operations.
