Completing an early Saturday afternoon treble for the Andrew Balding stable, Juddmonte's Blue Bolt (Blue Point) made a winning start to a potentially fruitful campaign in Goodwood's Listed Conqueror Fillies' Stakes.
Last seen finishing runner-up to the unstoppable Fallen Angel in Newmarket's Sun Chariot in October, the Listed Sandown Distaff winner had to fight for Colin Keane with the long-absent Kon Tiki (Night Of Thunder) in determined mood but managed to thrust in front close home for a 3/4-of-a-length success. The returning Poule d'Essai des Pouliches second Shes Perfect (Sioux Nation) was another 1 1/2 lengths behind in third.
Blue Bolt, who was the 4-6 favourite for the mile contest, was following the yard's Listed scorer Flora Of Bermuda and well-handicapped Double Rush at Newmarket minutes earlier as Kingsclere demonstrates its rude health.

The dam is the G3 Prix Allez France winner Mayhem (Whipper), whose progeny include the Listed scorer and G2 German 1,000 Guineas runner-up Sky Angel (Dark Angel) and the dual Listed scorer Sea Theme (Sea The Stars). A full-sister to the G2 Prix Daniel Wildenstein winner Royal Bench and kin to the G3 Ormonde Stakes scorer and Irish Derby third Memphis Tennessee (Hurricane Run), as well as being a granddaughter of the G1 Prix Saint-Alary heroine Cerulean Sky (Darshaan), Mayhem also has the once-raced three-year-old full-sister to Sky Angel named Heureuse and a yearling colt by Baaeed.
