From the immediate family of Frankel, Juddmonte's Legacy Link (Dubawi) put herself in the Oaks picture in Wednesday's G3 Tattersalls Musidora Stakes at York.
Not seen since finishing fourth in the Fillies' Mile at Newmarket in October, the John and Thady Gosden-trained granddaughter of Kind travelled smoothly tracking the front pair early.
Committed three out by Colin Keane, the 6-4 favourite was joined soon after and headed by Felicitas (Teofilo) but battled to regain the advantage and forge ahead for a 3/4-of-a-length success. The Aykroyds' K Sarra (New Bay) was a further 1 1/2 lengths away in third.
“She was a little fresh and green early on and got on the wrong lead on the bend, but what I liked is when the other filly came to her she fought her way back and galloped out strongly,” John Gosden said after equalling the record of the late Sir Henry Cecil in winning this nine times. “She has a great mind on her, but is short of match-practice. This is not ideal weather for fillies and she'll do nothing but improve.”
“It was a great battle between two very nice fillies,” he added. “She has come out and finished well on top. She showed a lot of courage there and for a first run, I thought it was a big run. There was talk of the Prix de Diane beforehand, but Colin thinks she should go to Epsom–the way she finished and the way she galloped out, I think it would be more likely than Chantilly.”
Keane added, “For the first half she was fresh and gassy, but from the bottom of the straight she was plain sailing. I'd imagine she'll come on a lot from today. Epsom is a different test again, but I think she'll appreciate going a mile and a half. I think that's when we'll see the best of her. She relaxes, lengthens and gallops and wanted every yard of that today.”

Pedigree Notes
Legacy Link is the first foal out of the 12-furlong winner Chiasma, one of only two mares out of the operation's legendary Danehill mare Kind alongside the dual Listed scorer and multiple Group-placed Joyeuse (Oasis Dream). She has proven a key broodmare in her own right, producing five black-type performers including the G2 Mill Reef Stakes winner Array (No Nay Never) and the Group 1-placed Maximal (Galileo) and Jubiloso (Shamardal) and also Dubawi's dual Listed-placed Jovial who is the dam of last year's G2 Celebration Mile and G3 Greenham Stakes winner and Poule d'Essai des Poulains runner-up Jonquil (Lope De Vega) who lines up in Saturday's Lockinge.
Kind's half-sister Arizona Jewel (Dansili), who was fourth in this race in 2011, produced two useful progeny by Dubawi in the Listed scorer Jewel House and the G3 Snow Fairy Stakes runner-up Desert Diamond. That sire is the chosen one for Frankel's sister, with her two-year-old filly by the Darley phenomenon named Zhuri and her yearling a colt.
