The G1 Irish St Leger winner Jukebox Jury (Ire) (Montjeu {Ire}) is off the mark in his secondary career having sired his first winner, Felix (Fr), over 1300m in the Czech Republic.
A son of the winning Bering (GB) mare Fait Accompli (Ger), Felix was bred by Gestut Hofgut Mappen and won by four lengths on his second start for trainer Michal Lisek. He was bought as a foal at Arqana's December Sale for €16,000 from Clementine Stud by Norris/Huntingdon and subsequently resold through Stauffenberg Bloodstock to Czech agent Tomas Janda for €30,000 at the BBAG Yearling Sale last September.
Trained by Mark Johnston, Jukebox Jury won the G2 Juddmonte Royal Lodge S. at two and raced on until the end of his five-year-old season, winning seven more stakes races, including the G1 Preis von Europa in Cologne and the G2 Prix Kergorlay and G2 Grand Prix de Deauville in France. He started his stud career at Gestut Etzean in 2013 and had a first crop of 54 foals.
