Bidding via phone from Royal Ascot, Justin Casse snapped up hip 316, the lone offering in the OBS June catalogue by War Front, for $425,000 for an undisclosed client. The filly, bred by WinStar Farm in Kentucky and consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds, Agent, breezed a furlong in :10 even during last week's under tack show. Out of the GIII Hurricane Bertie H. runner-up Forty Moves (Gold Fever), the 2-year-old miss, named Black Canary, is from the extended family of GISW Cat Moves (Tale of the Cat) and GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf hero Hootenanny (Quality Road). She was a $110,000 RNA as a Keeneland September yearling.
