A total of 4,479 yearlings have been catalogued for the upcoming Keeneland September Yearling Sale, which will run from Sept. 12-25. The catalogue will be available online at www.keeneland.com beginning Aug. 9 and print catalogues will be mailed out the week of Aug. 22.
“The September Sale provides more winners of racing's biggest events and more participants at the sport's highest level than any other sale,” said Keeneland Director of Sales Geoffrey Russell. “From the Triple Crown to Royal Ascot to Dubai's Racing Festival and the Breeders' Cup, buyers are attracted to the September Sale for its consistency in producing world-class athletes.”
The 2016 Triple Crown was swept by Keeneland September graduates, with Nyquist (Uncle Mo) taking the GI Kentucky Derby, Exaggerator (Curlin) winning the GI Preakness S. and Creator (Tapit) scoring in the GI Belmont S.
The auction opens with a three-day premier Book 1, with sessions beginning at 11 a.m. After a dark day Sept. 15, sessions for books 2 through six begin at 10 a.m.
