Kitten's Joy's Taareef Wins the Daniel Wildenstein

Taareef | Scoop Dyga

Runner-up in the Apr. 20 G3 Prix de Fontainebleau over a mile here on his 3-year-old bow before finishing seventh in the G1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains at Deauville May 15, Taareef captured the nine-furlong G3 Prix Daphnis at this venue June 22 before finishing fourth behind Almanzor (Fr) (Wootton Bassett {Ire}) in the G2 Prix Guillaume d'Ornano over an extra furlong at Deauville Aug. 15. Settled in fourth early, the chestnut overhauled the long-time leader Hello My Love with 300 metres remaining before drawing away to win with authority. “He's a very consistent horse and he moved well with the ground on the soft side, but he's better on fast,” trainer Jean-Claude Rouget said. “I don't know what will happen now, but I'd like to keep him in training next year. We shall see.” Taareef is a grandson of Marianna's Girl, who took the GIII Linda Vista H. and is the dam of the GIII Poker H. scorer Christine's Outlaw (Wild Again) and the GIII Stars and Stripes H. winner Marastani (Sharastani). Marianna's Girl is a half to the GII Oaklawn H. winner Bold Style (Bold Commander) and also the second dam of the GIII British Columbia Breeders' Cup Oaks winner Summer Symphony (Summer Squall). Sacred Feather also has a 2-year-old colt by Stormy Atlantic named Stormy Forecast who has placed on both his starts so far, a yearling colt by Point of Entry and a 2016 filly by Bernardini.
