Five-time Group 1-winning sprinter Lankan Rupee (Aus) (Redoute's Choice {Aus}), not seen in action since suffering a ligament injury when third in last October's G2 Schillaci S., is back in the Caulfield stable of trainer Mick Price and is being prepared for a 7-year-old campaign this spring.
“He has been bouncing around the stable like a 2-year-old, which is really pleasing,” Price told Racing.com. “There is always some doubt whether older horses still want to do it when they come back from a long break with injury, but all the signs are good at this stage.”
Price said he has not yet nominated a return target for the bay. “I'll let him tell us when he is ready, I don't want to rush anything and if he is right, there are plenty of options for him,” he said. “The back end of the spring is when he is likely to be ready.”
