With the G1 Grand Prix de Paris upcoming, Sunday's G2 Prix Hocquart Longines at Chantilly offers the chance for some hopefuls to take a step forward, and one of the most likely is the Wertheimers' Galipad (GB) (Galileo {Ire}), who seeks to provide trainer Andre Fabre with an eighth renewal. Successful last time in Lyon-Parilly's Listed Coupe des Trois Ans over this trip on May 25, he is joined by stablemate Mask of Time (Ire) (Holy Roman Emperor {Ire}). Ballymore Thoroughbred Ltd's bay also took to the provinces last time and comes here on the back of a win in the Listed Derby du Midi over 9 1/2 furlongs at Bordeaux-le-Bouscat on May 27. Also here are the second, third and fourth in the G3 Prix du Lys at Saint-Cloud on May 23, Ice Breeze (GB) (Nayef) emerging best then when second to Called To the Bar (Ire) (Henrythenavigator) in that Saint-Cloud contest on May 23.
