G1SW and sire Le Havre (Ire) (Noverre), whose Villa Marina (GB) captured the G1 Prix de l'Opera in 2019, will stand at an increased fee of €50,000 in 2020, Haras de Montfort et Preaux announced on Wednesday. The 13-year-old, who won the 2009 G1 Prix du Jockey Club has 13 black-type winners and just shy of $6 million in earnings this year. He is joined by G3 Acomb S. hero Recorder (GB) (Galileo {Ire}), who will command €5,000. The latter has first yearlings in 2020.
“Le Havre is having a great year in 2019 thanks to seven Group 1 performers including G1 Prix de l'Opéra winner Villa Marina (GB) on Arc day,” said Mathieu Alex of Montfort & Preaux. “His yearlings proved very popular with three sold for more than €500 000 and averaged €200,000. Recorder has been very popular since retiring to us in 2018. This good-looking son of champion sire Galileo was a very talented and precocious 2-year-old and we are absolutely delighted with his first foals born this year. They have strength, scope and a great attitude.”
