Le Havre's Fee Rises to €60,000 at Cauviniere

Le Havre | Haras de la Cauviniere

Haras de la Cauviniere's Le Havre (Ire) (Noverre–Marie Rheinberg {Ger}, by Surako {Ger}), the sire of this year's Classic heroine La Cressonniere (Fr), who landed the G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches and G1 Prix de Diane Longines, will stand for a fee of €60,000, the stud announced Monday. La Cressonniere, who is still a perfect eight-for-eight, is the second Classic winner for the stallion, after Avenir Certain (Fr) achieved the same double in 2014. Le Havre is also the sire of Suedois (Fr), who has placed second in the G1 Darley July Cup and third in the G1 32Red Spring Cup this term. The winner of the G1 Prix du Jockey Club in 2009, Le Havre stood for €35,000 in 2016.

“He is a very young exciting sire, proven on the track and at the sales with some strong demand at the yearling sales, including a half-brother to La Cressonniere sold for €520,000 to Blandford Bloodstock at Arqana in August,” said Mathieu Alex of La Cauviniere. “Le Havre has covered a top-quality book of mares for the last two years and we are very grateful to the breeders that have supported him.”

The stud will also have current French leading first-crop sire Rajsaman (Fr) (Linamix {Fr}–Rose Quartz {GB}, by Lammtarra), who will stand for €8,000, up from €6,000 and Air Chief Marshal (Ire) (Danehill Dancer {Ire}–Hawala {Ire}, by Warning {GB}), who sired G1 Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris hero Mont Ormel (Fr). The latter will command €6,000, rising from €5,000.
