The fireworks picked up at the OBS Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training about a third of the way through Thursda?s session when hip 692, a Bobby Dodd-consigned daughter of Lemon Drop Kid–Yonagucci (Yonaguska) fetched a final bid of $650,000 from trainer Mark Casse, bidding on behalf of Ernie Semerskyﾠand Dory Newellﾒs Conquest Stables. Produced by Yonagucci, third in the 2007 GI Spinaway S., the May 7 foal made $120,000 as a short yearling at the 2014 Keeneland January Sale, but was led out unsold on a bid of $190,000 at that venueﾒs September yearling sale. That ultimately proved a shrewd decision, as the blaze-faced bay scorched the SafeTrack in a bulletﾠ:9 4/5 breeze and they flocked to her Thursday afternoon.
