Lindsay Park Loaded For Diamond

Ennis Hill | Bronwen Healy

The Lindsay Park training team of David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig provided six runners in last year's G1 Blue Diamond S., and that stable looks to be loaded again for this year's renewal on Feb. 24, with Ennis Hill (Aus) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) added to its ranks after a smart win the G3 Chairman's S. at Caulfield on Saturday. Taking charge from the barriers, the filly dropped down to the rail and had an advantage of a length rounding the turn in the 1000 metre dash. Pulling a further length clear under a motionless Stephen Baster upon straightening, the bay pulled as much as three lengths clear after being reminded and hit the wire 1 1/2 lengths to the good of the rallying Encryption (Aus) (Lonhro {Aus}), who is himself the first foal out of Godolphin's four-time Group 1 winner Guelph (Aus) (Exceed and Excel {Aus}). Ennis Hill is out of the G2 Reisling S. winner Hips Don't Lie (NZ) (Stravinsky), and is a full-sister to stakes-winning Lake Geneva (Aus), third in both the Blue Diamond and G1 Golden Slipper in 2015.

Lindsay Park also sent out Arrowfield's 'TDN Rising Star' Earth Angel (Aus) (Animal Kingdom) to a first-up second on the card in a 1400m handicap. Earth Angel, a daughter of 2006 Golden Slipper winner Miss Finland (Aus) (Redoute's Choice {Aus}) and a half to G1 Thousand Guineas winner Stay With Me (Aus) (Street Cry {Ire}), was making her third start and her first since a fourth at listed level last April.
