+SPEAK WITH ME (FR) (c, 3, Lope de Vega {Ire}–Marigay's Magic {GB}, by Rock of Gibraltar {Ire}) was bet down to 2-1 from a morning line three times that and overcame a wide trip to score an impressive debut victory Wednesday at Delaware Park. A €52,000 graduate of the 2014 Arqana October Yearling Sale, the dark bay found himself in the Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale some six months later and fetched a final bid of 100,000gns. Backed confidently off a Fair Hill worktab that was full of promise and going out for the red-hot Arnaud Delacour barn, Speak With Me was part of the vanguard passing under the wire with a circuit to travel, but was floated out about five deep entering the first turn before taking up a three-wide perch from third. Well handled by Carol Cedeno, Speak With Me had his rivals hard at it as he stuck a head in front three-eighths from home and he widened nicely down the lane to take it by five comfortable lengths. The winner's dam, a half-sister to SW & GSP High Maintenance (GB) (Danehill), was sold for €25,000 carrying this foal in utero at the 2012 Arqana December sale.
