Irish champion Lush Lashes (GB) (Galileo {Ire}–Dance for Fun {GB}, by Anabaa), picked up for just 80,000 Euros by Jim Bolger as a Goffs yearling in 2006, was billed as the highlight of the opening session of the 2009 Tattersalls December Mare Sale, and she didn't disappoint. The four-year-old was hammered down to Kern/Lillingston Association for 1,800,000gns Monday. Initially listed as a sale, the exchange was later relisted as an RNA, but Bolger revealed he had bought out partner John Corcoran, and said the filly would be sent to Sea the Stars (Ire). A winner in her lone start at two, Lush Lashes captured three Group 1 events at three–the Coronation S., Yorkshire Oaks and Matron S. She retired with a record of 13-5-2-1 and earnings of $2,389,720.
