A Pennsylvania-bred colt by Malibu Moon got things off to a fast start at the Fasig-Tipton Calder Sale Tuesday, realizing a final bid of $700,000 from trainer Dallas Stewart. Purchased by Buzz Chace for $230,000 out of last year's Fasig-Tipton July yearling sale, the dark bay is the first foal out of National Pastime (Polish Numbers) and hails from the extended female family of champion Safely Kept. Hip 18 was consigned to the sale by Scanlon Training Center, agent.
