Harry T. Mangurian Jr., owner of Mockingbird Farm in Ocala, died Sunday at the age of 82. From 1998 through September 2001, Mangurian led all North American breeders in purses and races won, and set records with 88 individual stakes winners. Mockingbird freshman sires Diablo (Devil's Bag), End Sweep (Forty Niner), Rizzi (Afleet), Storm Creek (Storm Cat) and Valid Expectations (Valid Appeal) all led the country in either money earned or races won. He is survived by his wife Dorothy and daughters Terry Skuse and Tracy Jenkins. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael and Diane Bienes Cancer Center, Holy Cross Hospital. Friends will be received from 6:30 p.m to 9:00 p.m at Coral Ridge Country Club in Ft. Lauderdale Oct. 22.
