Having failed to stay the mile-and-a-half of the G1 Epsom Derby, Massaat (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire} is back in his comfort zone back over a mile in Salisbury's G3 Totepool Sovereign S. on Thursday. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum's G1 Dewhurst S. and G1 2000 Guineas runner-up was far too free when ninth in the June 4 blue riband, and has perfect conditions encountering older horses for the first time in this class-drop.

Also taking on his elders is Cheveley Park's Zonderland (GB) (Dutch Art {GB}), who had the likes of Forge (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) and Royal Artillery (War Front) in arrears when winning the Listed Heron S. over a mile at Sandown May 26. Subsequently eighth in the G1 Prix Jean Prat at Chantilly July 10, the homebred is worth another chance to show his true capabilities in a race in which the June 3 G3 Diomed S. winner Tullius (Ire) (Le Vie dei Colori {GB}) is forced to carry a penalty.
