Over 110,000 racegoers put nearly US$400 million through the windows for Sunday's G1 Arima Kinen at Nakayama Racecourse, and in the end it was horse for the course Matsurida Gogh (Jpn) (Sunday Silence) who caused a 51-1 upset. Daiwa Scarlet (Jpn) (Agnes Tachyon {Jpn}) and her 3/4 brother Daiwa Major (Jpn) (Sunday Silence) finished second and third, respectively, while favored Meisho Samson (Jpn) (Opera House {GB}) could finish no better than eighth.
