Successful over this trip at Redcar May 30 and at Haydock June 14, Dance Diva earned the reward for her professionalism by trebling her tally in this first try at black-type. Settled behind the leading trio throughout the early stages, the bay seized the advantage with two furlongs remaining and stayed on as Maggies Angel threatened on the uphill climb to the line. “She's entered in the [July] sales in a couple of weeks, but if she goes there or not I've no idea,” explained John Marsh, assistant racing manager for Cheveley Park Stud. “In the paddock she looked the biggest filly and she is really progressing nicely. This was the plan.” Out of the useful Dance East, who captured a nin-furlong handicap at the Glorious Goodwood meeting in 2010, the winner hails from the family of the G1 Racing Post Trophy-winning sire Saratoga Springs. The dam also has a yearling colt by Nathaniel (Ire).
