Meanwhile, Back at HQ…

MEANWHILE, BACK AT HQ…
Newmarket's Rowley Mile is back in full swing today, with the G3 Somerville Tattersall S. the feature event as some of the up-and-coming juveniles prep for the upcoming Future Champions Day. William Haggas appears to hold the aces, with his Aug. 21 DBS Premier Yearling S. first and third Mubtaghaa (Ire) (Acclamation {GB}) and Valley of Fire (GB) (Firebreak {GB}) again sent into battle against each other. The form of that six-furlong York contest has been boosted by the subsequent group win of the second-placed filly New Providence (GB) (Bahamian Bounty {GB}), but the winner has stamina to prove as he moves up a panel here. “He's a bonny horse, a star horse for us, really tough and hardy,” Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum's Racing Manager Angus Gold told PA Sport. “Whether he stays seven furlongs, that's going to be the doubt, and we wouldn't want it to rain any more for him.”
Godolphin's Maftool (Hard Spun) returns to turf after finishing second in the G3 Sirenia S. over six furlongs on Kempton's Polytrack Sept. 6 and trainer Saeed bin Suroor said, “Maftool ran well at Kempton and has improved physically since. His last piece of work went nicely and I am happy with him. Seven furlongs should suit and I am looking forward to seeing how he gets on.”
George Strawbridge's Make it Up (GB) (Halling) took a decent conditions event over this trip at Goodwood Sept. 2 and is another who should make an impact.
