The 7-2 caught a flyer from the stalls, shooting up to press from second through early splits of :22.97 and :47.29. Drawing even with the pacesetter on the backstretch, the bay quickly put that rival away and determinedly dug in to hold off Giant Expectations (Frost Giant) by a 3/4 of a length. Funny Feeling is a SW daughter of GISW Hookedonthefeelin (Citidancer), who also produced GISW freshman sire Jimmy Creed (Distorted Humor); and MGISW Pussycat Doll (Real Quiet), the dam of SWs Aquaphobia (Giant's Causeway) and Forever Popular (Dynaformer). Purchased for $520,000 carrying her first foal by Medaglia d'Oro at the 2011 Fasig-Tipton November sale, the 10-year-old mare RNA'd for $900,000 carrying Gato Del Oro at the 2013 renewal of that auction. Funny Feeling is responsible for a juvenile colt named Copper Moon (Malibu Moon); a yearling colt by Tapit; and produced an American Pharoah filly May 14 of this year.
