The fifth year of the Meydan Equine Education Programme (MEEP), where stable tours for school children are the highlight, has begun. Launched as part of an initiative to educate young people about the history and heritage of horse racing in the UAE, MEEP is run by Meydan Group from September to May each season, barring January-March.

Students are taken to visit the Dubai Racing Club yards inside the Meydan Racecourse complex in Nad Al Sheba, where they can meet equine stars, as well as trainers and racing personnel from each yard. They also visit different areas of the grandstand, before refreshments are offered with a baseball cap and t-shirt being provided. Later on, the students and their families are invited back during the Dubai World Cup Carnival for a Fun Day, packed with activities for young children.

Breakfast With Champions, a behind-the-scenes tour for visitors has also resumed, running every Tuesday and Wednesday through Mar. 21, with a break for World Cup week and finishing Apr. 18. The tour starts with breakfast at the Farriers restaurant, followed by visiting one of the yards and a final stop at the Meydan grandstand. Admission is AED 150 for children (4-12) and AED 275 for adults.
