Bloodstock agent Jacob West came out on top of a spirited round of bidding to snag Hip 586, a Pioneerof the Nile colt, for $1-million on behalf of Robert and Lawana Low. Bred in Kentucky by Christiana Stables, the bay is out of Heavenly Vision (Forestry), a half-sister to MSW & GSP Holy Bubbette (Holy Bull), who is the dam of MGSW Cairo Prince (Pioneerof the Nile) and GISP Nonna Mia (Empire Maker). Nonna Mia in turn is the dam of GISW sire Outwork (Uncle Mo), MSP Nonna's Boy (Distorted Humor); and the undefeated sophomore Nonna Bella (Stay Thirsty). The juvenile, who breezed in :20 4/5, was purchased by Sobhy Sonbol for $240,000 as a weanling at Keeneland November and was consigned to this auction by Eddie Woods.
