Shadwell Stable's Mohaymen (Tapit) continued his preparations for Gulfstream's GII Holy Bull S. Jan. 30 with a five-furlong breeze in 1:01 flat Thursday morning at Palm Meadows. Working under exercise rider Miguel Jaime, the undefeated gray followed his work with a six-furlong gallop out in 1:13 4/5.
“He's doing great,” trainer Kiaran McLaughlin said. “He worked great on his own and we're pleased how he did it. We worked [Thursday] instead of [Friday] because of the weather, and we'll plan on working next week, Thursday or Friday, keeping an eye on the weather.”
A debut winner at Belmont Sept. 19, the $2.2 million KEESEP buy followed suit with a pair of victories in Aqueduct's GII Nashua S. Nov. 4 and GII Remsen S. Nov. 28.
“I would say we probably aren't looking for and don't want any changes,” McLaughlin said. “He's three-for-three and is doing well. He's eating well and looks great, and we're happy with him.”
The conditioner added, “It's very exciting as we get closer. We're looking forward to it.”
